Clover Setona Weevil on a soya leaf - 6th August 2019 - any damage caused by this is inconsequential at this stage in the life of the soya plant.  Not to be confused with the  Pea & Bean weevil,  which is black in colour and does cause issues in peas and bean crops.

Our soya trial - 17th August 2018 - early to mature variety Siverka on the right, and late to mature Swiss variety, Obelix, on the left.  Clearly showing why varietal choice is important for growing soya in the UK.

Direct Drilling Soya in Wiltshire on 1st May 2018.  Soya was direct drilled into warm, moist ex ELS over-wintered wheat stubble having been first sprayed with glyphosate about three weeks before to kill off the volunteer cereals. In future years this grower would prefer to have a non-leguminous cover crop to drill into as the ground is empty for up to nine months post harvest of the preceding cereal.
